School of Swing is LIVE at MCG Jazz! All 3rd grade students are invited to experience this 50 minute interactive and educational concert, in-person. Throughout the concert students will learn about the different elements of music --Harmony, Melody and Rhythm-- and how they relate to jazz. Students will create a human drum machine, sing a scat solo, and get groovy on the dance floor. Come experience jazz! Learn about the music’s history and how jazz uses creativity, improvisation and teamwork.

Tickets and 1 bus are provided by MCG Jazz. Performances will be held at MCG Jazz, 1815 Metropolitan Street, Pittsburgh PA 15233. Use the form below to register.

How to Register

Transportation for Pittsburgh Public Schools

 The PPS Arts Department will arrange one bus per school, reimbursed by MCG Jazz. Any additional transportation will be the responsibility of the school to secure and purchase.

Transportation for Non-PPS Schools

All other schools registering for School of Swing, it is the school's responsibility to coordinate transportation. MCG Jazz will reimburse the cost of the bus but it is up to each school registering to confirm transportation. After securing transportation please submit the invoice from the busing company to mjackovic@manchesterbidwell.org for payment.
